Lower Saxony Music Association
The Lower Saxony Music Association e. V. ( NMV for short ) has been since the merger of the two predecessor associations Spielmannszug-Vereinigung Niedersachsen e. V. as well as the Lower Saxony Folk Musicians Association e. V. in 1999 was the largest association of amateur musicians in Lower Saxony. It has over 39,000 members in 417 associations (as of 03/2004). The NMV is itself a member of the Federal Association of German Music Associations . V. as well as in the Landesmusikrat Niedersachsen e. V.
Focus
Of course, special emphasis is placed on the training and further education of the musicians of the member associations. This takes place in qualified D and C courses. In addition, championships are held at district, district and state level. State Musicians Orchestra of Lower Saxony
The NMV founded the Lower Saxony State Musicians Orchestra (LSO) as a special training measure and to represent the association at the federal level . This orchestra rehearsed about twice a year and could a. in the German selection orchestra competition of the Working Group of German Folk Music Associations in 2002, they came first. However, the LSO no longer exists in this form.
