The Bund Deutscher Blasmusikverbände eV (short: BDB ) is an amalgamation of brass music associations in southwest Germany. The association is based in Staufen im Breisgau . Acting president of the BDB is Patrick Rapp , member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg. The BDB is a member association of the Federal Association of German Music Associations .

Member associations

The BDB has 16 member associations from three federal states. The association represents a total of around 250,000 musicians (70,000 of them active musicians) in 1,100 member associations (as of 2019). The 16 member associations of the BDB in Baden-Württemberg are mainly located in the former Baden region.

The BDB maintains its own music academy in Staufen im Breisgau in which advanced training events are offered (e.g. instrumental training, conductor training, seminars for board members and cashiers). The academy offers overnight accommodation for up to 65 people and has three seminar rooms, two lecture halls, a conference room and an orchestra hall built in 2006.
