The Kreismusikverband Germersheim eV was founded in 1981 and is based in Jockgrim (Rhineland-Palatinate). It currently comprises 35 member associations with a total of around 1,600 members.
The Kreismusikverband Germersheim is a member association of the Federation of German Brass Music Associations . An association youth orchestra also belongs to the district music association Germersheim.
tasks
In addition to promoting and maintaining brass music, the tasks of the Kreismusikverband Germersheim include advising and supporting the member associations in administrative matters, coordinating / organizing seminars, training and further education for young musicians (brass music course), and conducting courses to acquire the young musician's badge . The implementation of instrumental courses, courses for instrumental instructors and the support and participation in the organization and implementation of association music festivals or national brass music events are also part of the tasks.
Association youth orchestra
60 young musicians play in the Association Youth Orchestra, which was founded in 1991 (as of 2012). Achim Drafz conducted the orchestra until 1995. In 1995 Fabian Metz took over the position of conductor and the orchestra was given its current name. With concert tours to Kurtatsch in South Tyrol , Greiz in Thuringia (both 1998), to Berlin (2005) and to the North Sea island of Föhr (2007), the orchestra also gained national fame.
