The Burg Adenbach is located in Ahrweiler , a district of Bad Neuenahr in Rhineland-Palatinate district of Ahrweiler . The building at Adenbachhutstrasse 1 is a protected cultural monument .
history
The castle dates back to a manor house from the late Middle Ages , which came into the possession of the Baron von Loë in the 19th century . In the 1930s the building was used as a youth hostel . Since extensive renovation measures at the end of the 1980s, it has been home to a hotel with a restaurant.
architecture
The quarry stone building , partly with half-timbering , has an octagonal tower. In 1903, the old building was largely redesigned and adapted to modern requirements during the renovation work at the end of the 1980s. The elongated two-storey residential building has a stepped gable on the eaves side and on the narrow western side .
