Vettelhoven Castle is a romanticizing and historicizing castle in the village of Vettelhoven in the Ahrweiler district . The building was built in 1890 in the middle of a spacious park in the neo-renaissance style.

Guido de Weerth von Vettelhoven and Anna Charlotte von Bemberg-Flamersheim married in 1887. The Elberfeld industrial heir, landowner and politician Julius von Bemberg-Flamersheim, who was elected in 1884 and appointed to the Prussian mansion by Kaiser Wilhelm II , gave his daughter a lavish wedding ceremony Dowry from: Anna Charlotte received the castle, which is surrounded by an extensive park with a pond and stream, as a gift.

The sandstone structure with a large tower, risalit with volute gable , octagonal standing bay and winter garden, all in splendid neo-renaissance forms, was completed in 1890. The main entrance is flanked by columns and crowned by an ornate pediment. Particularly noteworthy are the well-crafted stonemason details in the outer facade, as well as numerous architectural details in the interior design. Vettelhoven Castle is a testament to the artistic work of that era.

It was the Franconian noble Watilo who once gave the name to the farm and village of Vettelhoven in the Ahrweiler district. A knight Dietrich von Vettelhoven was first mentioned in 1248. In 1254 a nobleman named Richard von Vettelhoven appears in a document. His descendants built Vettelhoven Castle in the 15th century - the first forerunners of today's palace complex. In 1551 the future Elector and Archbishop of Trier Lothar von Metternich was born here. His half-brother Bernhard von Metternich and his step-brother Dam Quad von Landskron later lived here.
