Birgit Jischa

Birgit Jischa (born April 28, 1973 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). She has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council since 2014 .

education and profession

Jischa attended the Natural Science Realgymnasium with Descriptive Geometry of the BG and BRG Schwechat and passed the Matura there in 1991 . She then completed a college for plastics technology at TGM Vienna and also graduated from there in 1993. Jischa then studied international business administration at the University of Vienna , specializing in financial law, auditing and fiduciary management as well as international accounting.

From 2002 to 2004, Jischa worked as an auditing assistant at BDO Auxilia Treuhand GmbH, auditing and tax consulting company & at Dr. Feuerstein Wirtschaftstreuhand limited partnership. She then worked from 2005 to April 2014 in the secretariat of the department head of the finance department of the Vienna Regional Health Insurance Fund. As a result, she worked from April 2014 to April 2016 as the district secretary of the SPÖ Simmering.

Politics and functions

Jischa began her political career in the Socialist Youth , to which she belonged from 1991 to 2001. Afterwards she was a member of the board of the Young Generation Simmering from 2002 to 2011 and worked as a district councilor in Simmering from 2005 to 2014. From 2011, Jischa was also the chairman of the finance committee of the Simmering district council. She was sworn in on November 26, 2014 as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the City Council of Vienna, succeeding Eva-Maria Hatzl , who had changed to the post of district head of Simmering. In 2015 she was elected secretary in the state parliament or local council. Within the party, she has also held the functions of deputy district chairwoman of the SPÖ Frauen Simmering since 2009 and is an assessor in the district committee of the SPÖ Vienna-Simmering. When she was sworn in as a member of the state parliament and local council, Jischa named the fight against poverty, the creation of jobs and training places in schools and companies as well as the expansion of public transport in Simmering as her main concerns.
