history
Burgsahr and free home , today a district of mountain , were a sub-rule of the archbishopric of Cologne , and originally belonged to Altenahrer Castle loans Uprath. For the first time, the Lords of Gymnich were enfeoffed in 1364 . In 1458 the subordinate rule went to the Blankart zu Ahrweiler and after their extinction in 1712 to the married relatives. Since the beginning of the 19th century, the properties came into the hands of various middle-class families through purchase.
architecture
The two-storey quarry stone building with five window axes and a high hipped roof essentially dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. In the middle of the building on the courtyard side is a Welsche hood , which was intended as a lift device. An oven has been built on the east side. The farm buildings next to the castle house were partly made of quarry stone and partly of clay framework.
