Berg is a municipality in the Ahrweiler district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Altenahr .
Community structure
Districts are Berg, Freisheim, Krälingen, Häselingen, Vellen and Vischel . The community also includes the Forsthaus Vilma Höhe and Weißerath residential areas .

Municipal council
The council in Mountain consists of 16 council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Erwin Kessel (CDU) became mayor of Berg in 1992. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in office for a further five years with a share of 67.63% of the vote.
