Senscheid is a municipality in the Ahrweiler district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Adenau community .

geography

The place is affected on the western edge by the state road 72, which connects Senscheid in the north with Dankerath and in the south with Bodenbach .

history

During the feudal period , Senscheid belonged to the Zent Nohn in the Electorate of Daun . In the French administration he came to Mairie Barweiler in the canton of Adenau . Later, during the Prussian period, it was part of the Aremberg mayor's office in the Adenau district .

Municipal council

The municipal council in Senscheid consists of six council members, who were elected by a majority vote in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman.

Dirk Ueberhofen became the local mayor of Senscheid on June 28, 2019. Since there was no candidate in the direct election on May 26, 2019, the upcoming election of the mayor was incumbent on the council, which decided in favor of Ueberhofen.

Ueberhofen’s predecessor, Klaus Einig, held the office from 2014 to 2019.
