Vischel is a district of the Berg municipality in the Ahrweiler district in Rhineland-Palatinate . The place, consisting of Vischel Castle , the Catholic Church of St. Nicholas and three residential buildings with outbuildings, can be reached via a dead end street from Berg.
history
The first documented mention of Vischel was in 893 in the Prümer Urbar . The Prüm Abbey had a rich property in “Wizsselle”. The Archbishops of Cologne gave the new fractional tenth in 1086 and 1105 to Münstereifel Monastery , which had had the right of patronage to the church in Vischel since at least 1222.
