The Schleswig-Holstein Musicians' Association e. V. ( MVSH for short ) is an amalgamation of minstrels and brass music, fanfare and horns and other music making communities in Schleswig-Holstein. It is the umbrella and professional association for over 130 music associations with more than 200 ensembles and thus the largest instrumental music association in the country. He is a member of the Federal Union of German Music Associations , the German Youth Wind Instruments , the State Music Council Schleswig-Holstein and the State Working Group for Youth Music Schleswig-Holstein (LAG). Via the federal association BDMV , he is also a member of the Confédération Internationale des Sociétés Musicales and other institutions in the fields of culture, music and youth. The MVSH was founded in 1962.

Sub-organizations form 11 district and regional associations.

tasks

The main tasks are:

  • the promotion of young and adult musicians in instrumental play and the imparting of theoretical knowledge and knowledge of ear training in three consecutive courses with final exams according to nationally standardized material plans - D 1 to D 3 (badges in bronze, silver and gold)
  • the training of voice and register managers, instructors, conductors and staff leaders according to nationwide curricula and curricula - C 1 to C 3
  • promoting instrumental playing and ensemble music through courses, seminars, workshops and orchestra courses
  • the holding of competition games with concert, march and show evaluation and criticism games with assessment of the performance and advice on training and rehearsal work by an independent expert jury
  • the organization of regional music festivals for the representative presentation of the music areas represented by the Schleswig-Holstein Musicians' Association at the same time as a forum for meeting of musicians with different casts, age structures and stylistic orientations
  • the organization of chamber music competitions and other competitions as an important part of a qualified musical youth, educational and cultural work
  • the training and further education of youth workers and leaders for interdisciplinary youth work by the Landesmusikjugend in the Schleswig-Holstein Musicians' Association
  • Leisure time activities of the regional youth musicians and professionally oriented wind instrument leisure time
  • Advice, offers, assistance and information for music associations in technical and organizational matters, insurance issues , copyright , GEMA , artists' social security and other areas.

All educational offers are also open to non-members in return for a corresponding contribution to the costs. In addition, the diverse offers of the Federal Academy for Musical Youth Education in Trossingen and the Federal Music School of the DTB in Alt-Gandersheim can be used.

Selection orchestra

To promote talented young musicians, the association operates the performance-oriented selection orchestra as a cross-association institution
