The Confédération Internationale des Sociétés Musicales (CISM) is an amalgamation of national associations for brass music , percussion , drum, wind and whistle corps. The CISM was founded in 1949. The French association comprises 21 European member associations with 35,000 music associations.

The aim of the association according to the statutes is to preserve, cultivate and promote the musical culture. For this purpose, various advisory and support measures are offered for amateur musicians. These include international cultural exchanges, music festivals and competitions, advanced training measures and congresses, composition competitions, the creation of directories, lists and catalogs with information and working materials for musicians and the promotion of youth work. In addition, the CISM sees itself as representing the interests of the member associations. In addition to concert and symphonic brass music , the organization also expressly promotes traditional and folk styles, such as Bohemian and Moravian brass music.

The official communication organ of the CISM is the magazine clarino.print .
