The Landesmusikrat Schleswig-Holstein is the regional music council responsible for Schleswig-Holstein . As an umbrella organization, it takes care of the music scene in Schleswig-Holstein. The seat of the association is in Kiel . It does not pursue any economic goals, but exclusively charitable purposes. He particularly supports the activities for musical education, but also the promotion of cooperation between professional musicians and lay people. Around 50 member associations are organized in the State Music Council. history

After the German Music Council was founded in 1953 , the Schleswig-Holstein State Music Council emerged from a working group in 1978. During this period, other regional music councils were also founded, for example in North Rhine-Westphalia or Baden-Württemberg . The musicologist Wilhelm Pfannkuch was the founder and first president of the Schleswig-Holstein State Music Council. The first office was established in Flensburg at the end of the 1980s . With the beginning of its work there, the State Music Council also dealt with the jazz, pop and rock sectors. Before that he was mainly responsible for the classical music division. In the course of time, the State Music Council called various youth ensembles into life. Other projects that were gradually taken over by the State Music Council were the State Choir and State Orchestra Competition , the Nordland Chamber Music Course and Jugend musiziert . In 2001 the State Music Council moved to Kiel.

The Landesmusikrat Schleswig-Holstein has numerous tasks:

Projects

State youth ensembles

The Schleswig-Holstein State Music Council looks after four State youth ensembles, the State Youth Choir , the State Youth Orchestra , the State Youth Jazz Orchestra and the State Youth Ensemble for New Music . The first three ensembles were founded in the 1980s, the State Youth Ensemble for New Music in the 2000s. They meet several times a year to carry out work phases, concerts or school projects.

Courses

The Landesmusikrat Schleswig-Holstein organized as part of its educational offer numerous courses: Every year takes place in cooperation with the Landesmusikrat Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Youth makes music -Landesausschuss Hamburg Nordkolleg Rendsburg chamber music course instead of Nordland. There is also the summer jazz workshop and the German-Danish brass academy in Gråsten , the latter in cooperation with the municipality of Sønderborg (Denmark). For decades, the State Music Council has organized the state holiday course for music in St. Peter-Ording with offers for participation in choir and orchestral work. In the course of cost-saving measures, this has become the sponsorship of a registered association founded by alumni of the old state holiday course. The course is now taking place at Noer Castle.

Competitions

The Jugend musiziert competition has been held annually as a regional, state and federal competition since 1963/64. Participants are children and young people up to a maximum age of 20 years for the instrumental subjects and 25 years for singing. The regional competitions are followed by the state competition, which is organized by the Schleswig-Holstein State Music Council. In addition to Jugend musiziert , the State Music Council organizes the state choir competition called Choralle and the state orchestra competition ( orchestral ). These competitions are aimed in particular at amateur musicians and have been run as a joint project by the Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg regional music councils since 2003. The competitions take place every four years. After the competitions at state level, the German Choir Competition and the German Orchestra Competition follow .

Singing with children

Singing with children was launched with the aim of giving children easy access to their voice at an early age. To this end, educators from Schleswig-Holstein were trained in voice training by professional singers. The contents of the lesson included methods for changing from speaking to singing voice, but also the functionality of the child's voice and its needs.

Instrument of the year

The Instrument of the Year project links musical institutions in Schleswig-Holstein. For example concert organizers, music colleges, music associations, training and further education institutions, schools and music schools. The aim of the project is to gain attention for extensive musical activities in Schleswig-Holstein. For one year, an instrument is selected to which particular attention is paid and events are dedicated.

Since 2008 clarinet (patron Sabine Meyer and Reiner Wehle ), trumpet (patron Matthias Höfs ) , double bass (patron Jörg Linowitzki), trombone (patron Nils Landgren ), bassoon (patron Klaus Thunemann ), guitar (patron Dieter Kreidler ), viola ( Patron Nils Mönkemeyer ), horn (patron Jens Plücker ), harp (patron Gesine Dreyer ) and oboe (patron Kalev Kuljus ) honored as part of the project. Since 2010 the nomination has been carried out by the State Music Councils of Schleswig-Holstein and Berlin . In 2017, the State Music Councils of Baden-Württemberg, Brandenburg and Bremen took part for the first time .
