The Landesmusikrat Baden-Württemberg eV is the regional music council that works for the German state of Baden-Württemberg and is based in Karlsruhe . As an umbrella organization , it represents the interests of 77 music associations, working groups and institutions of musical life in Baden-Württemberg.
history
It is the successor organization of the state working group for music education and music maintenance in Baden-Württemberg . It was founded on June 10, 1978 in Ulm.
tasks
The association is the umbrella organization of the country's music associations, working groups and musical institutions, according to its own information, for 1.6 million people the interests of music in society and politics. As a registered association (eV) it initiates music and singing competitions for young people and adults, promotes young musicians, the music-making of amateurs and musical education.
The association is the sponsor of 13 state youth ensembles and several working groups on topics such as music education or teacher training. From 1978 he was the editor of his own small series and was involved in several other publications.
The Landesmusikrat is a member of the German Music Council . The President and the Managing Director of the State Music Council take part twice a year in the Germany-wide conference of the State Music Councils.
Members
In addition to associations, working groups and institutions of the musical culture of the state of Baden-Württemberg, the members are also at the federal level or internationally active professional associations such as the German Harmonica Association , the Society for Music Research and the International Association of Music Libraries, Music Archives and Music Documentation Centers .
Bureau
The Presidium of the State Music Council consists of a president, two vice-presidents and seven assessors. Currently (as of 2017) Hermann Wilske holds the office of President, Vice-Presidents are Kord Michaelis and Mini Schulz .

Regional Music Council shop
In its online shop, the Landesmusikrat offers music CDs with recordings by the various regional youth ensembles, music books and song books as well as the book Accordion - Around the World by Georg Penz, which documents the 25-year history of the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Orchestra of Accordion .
Office
The office of the Landesmusikrat is located in the Karlsruhe district of Stupferich at Ortsstrasse 6. The managing director Harald Maier has been working there since 2005. In addition to him, another five people are employed in the office (as of 2017).
