The Landesmusikrat NRW eV is the regional music council responsible for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia . As an umbrella organization, it takes care of the music scene in North Rhine-Westphalia. The office is located in Düsseldorf - Pempelfort , Klever Straße 23. The association is funded by the Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .
tasks and goals
The Landesmusikrat represents the interests of the music-making clubs and associations vis-à-vis the media and politics. The members are 55 associations and over 20 individual members. Situations are assessed and ideas are developed in various committees and working groups. The office works here; it documents, contributes expert knowledge and takes care of it. He is a member of the supporting association of the Landesmusikakademie NRW . Since 1999, the Landesmusikrat has been implementing changing key topics, for which expert assessors are elected to the Presidium. The previous thematic priorities and specialist representatives were: musical education, support for amateur music, professional music ( Romely Pfund ), popular music ( Steffi Stephan , Wolfgang Rohde ), cultural diversity (Andreas Heuser, Hans Lüdemann ), music and age ( Rosemarie Tüpker , Wolfgang Angerstein), Wie do cooperations succeed? ( Christoph Meyer , Wolfgang Stark ), Individual ways of musical education ( Susanne Keuchel , Andreas Lehmann).
Youth work
An important task is to work with young people. Talented children and young people are regularly challenged in music competitions; the winners can play music in nine provincial youth ensembles: State Youth Orchestra NRW Youth Jazz Orchestra NRW , Landesjugendchor NRW , State Youth Accordion Orchestra NRW, Young Bläserphilharmonie NRW , Jugendzupforchester NRW, Studio Music Factory: Youth Ensemble for New Music, SPLASH - percussion NRW, children's orchestra NRW .
The State Music Council has been supporting the NRW Chamber Music Center together with the Association for the Promotion of State Youth Ensembles since 2013. Young people who are interested in chamber music are brought together here. The Sparkassen Kulturstiftung Rheinland, the Sparkassenverband Westfalen-Lippe, the Provinzial Rheinland Versicherung AG and the Kulturstiftung der Westfälische Provinzial Versicherung AG provide further financial support.

The presidium works on a voluntary basis. It consists of a president, four vice-presidents, a treasurer and up to five assessors. The honorary president is also a member of the executive committee. The Landesmusikrat consists of four working groups, the chairmen of which are also vice-presidents.
