The Landesmusikrat Hamburg is the regional music council responsible for the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and was founded in 1978. He is a member of the German Music Council .

history

The LMR HH emerged in 1978 from the state working group for music education and music care ; the chairing founding members were Werner Krützfeldt, Hermann Rauhe and Peter Hartmann. In 1982 the first regional music plan was drawn up. In 1988 the LandesJugendJazzOrchester was founded by the LMR HH. In 1990/1991 the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg approved institutional funding and the first office was set up. Krützfeldt was chairman until 1998 and handed over the office to Wolfhagen Sobirey. In 2003, the State Music Academy was founded under the auspices of the LMR HH. In 2006, the Hamburg State Youth Orchestra became the sponsor of the LMR HH.

Structure and goals

The State Music Council in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is the umbrella organization for music-related associations, organizations and institutions. Extra! - Exchange Traditions

Extra! - Exchange Traditions, a project with the European Music Council and the Wilhelmsburg community center, aims to strengthen mutual cultural understanding in Hamburg through a musical exchange that takes place once a year. Through workshops, sound experiments and short concerts, visitors to the Wilhelmsburg community center (since 2009) are encouraged to discover worlds of sound and get to know foreign traditions, rhythms and instruments. Jazz train

Youth jazz

Jugend Jazzt is an event at which soloists and ensembles as well as jazz orchestras alternately present their skills and are then advised and assessed by an expert jury. The regional youth jazzt committee works in cooperation with the State Youth Music School Hamburg, the NDR Big Band and Jazz editorial team, as well as the Jazzbüro and JazzHaus Hamburg associations and the Hamburg school authority.

Pop-up band competition

Pop Up is a Hamburg music competition for young bands that took place for the first time in 2011. In various Hamburg districts, five winning bands will be selected in the preliminary round, which will then compete against each other in the Hamburg music club "Knust" at the competition finals.

ORCHESTRALE - the state orchestra competition for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein

The ORCHESTRALE state orchestra competition enables a large number of different amateur orchestras to participate in a prelude. CHORAL - the state choir competition for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein
