Hermann Rauhe
Hermann Rauhe (born March 6, 1930 in Wanna / Niederelbe ) is a German musicologist.
Life
After Hermann Rauhe graduated from the Amandus-Abendroth-Gymnasium in Cuxhaven in 1949 , he studied music and music education at the University of Music from 1951 to 1959, as well as music and literature , educational science , philosophy , sociology , theology and phonetics at the University of Hamburg . In 1955 he passed the first state examination for teaching at grammar schools with the subject combination music and Germanfrom. In 1959, the second examination was carried out and then the promotion of Doctor of Philosophy (musicology).
Scientific career
In 1960 Rauhe became an assistant, in 1963 a lecturer at the University of Hamburg and since 1965 he has been a professor of musicology and music education at the Hamburg University of Music. In 1970 he returned to the University of Hamburg as a full professor of educational science with a focus on music education. From 1978 to 2004 Rauhe was President of the Hamburg University of Music and Theater, and from 1980 to 1982 he was also Chairman of the Rectors' Conference of the Music Universities of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1981 Rauhe initiated the popular music pilot project (compact course system with supervised internships in the field of popular music) , of which he remained director until 1984.
Focus of work
Hermann Rauhe made a particular effort to develop new methods of music therapy research . For example, through the targeted use of music in the neurological rehabilitation of stroke and Parkinson's patients in the General Hospital Hamburg-Harburg (together with the neurologist Robert-Charles Behrend). For this reason, Rauhe works with the German Society for Preventive Medicine and Prevention Management eV . Together with its president Gerd Schnack , Rauhe has developed a special method of stress reduction, the so-called repetitive meditation training.
In addition, he worked in professional research and development ("Music Professions in Transition").
