State Music Council Lower Saxony
The Lower Saxony State Music Council , as one of 16 State Music Councils, forms the umbrella organization of Lower Saxony amateur music associations and professional music practice and represents their interests at the state level. It was founded in 1978; various predecessor organizations previously existed. The association is recognized by the state of Lower Saxony and is funded by it. His office is located on Arnswaldtstrasse in Hanover ; In addition, he runs the Lower Saxony State Music Academy in Wolfenbüttel . a. maintains several regional youth orchestras.

In addition to political representation and related activities, the Landesmusikrat also acts as an organizer. He organizes the state competition Jugend musiziert in Lower Saxony, the Lower Saxony orchestra competition , the Lower Saxony choir competition and the state meeting youth jazz .

Members of the State Music Council are various amateur music associations as well as some private individuals and some supporting members. It is headed by a ten-person executive committee . The president is Johannes Münter.
The Lower Saxony State Music Council is united with the music councils of other countries in the German Music Council .
