The Landesmusikrat Thüringen eV is the regional music council responsible for the Free State of Thuringia (abbreviated LMR). As an umbrella organization, it represents the interests of over 50 music associations, institutions and individual members of musical life in Thuringia. The office is located at Steubenstrasse 15 in Weimar .
organs
The organs of the Landesmusikrat are the general assembly, the presidium and the office. The general assembly, as the highest decision-making body, includes the associations and institutions, the individual members and the honorary members. The members are organized in different committees: the state committees choir , orchestra , youth jazz , youth music , amateur music, musical education, new music and the working group youth composed.
The presidium, which is elected by the general assembly, includes the president, two vice-presidents and six other members. The management consists of the managing director and a project coordinator.
The Regional Music Council of Thuringia is a member of the German Music Council .
Tasks and projects
The tasks of the State Music Council Thuringia include the organization of the state competition Jugend musiziert in Thuringia as well as other competitions. Since 2002, supported by the Thuringian State Chancellery , it has been awarding scholarships for musically gifted children and young people in the Free State of Thuringia.
Through his regional committee for new music he promotes the development of contemporary music by supporting the ensembles “Dandy Desmond Doping Tour”, “Die Absurden”, choirs Weimar and Jena , “Duo Donath”, “Duo Klangzeichen”, “Ensemble diX”, “Ensemble for Intuitive Music Weimar "," Ensemble Iberoamericano "," Ensemble Marges "," Landesjugendensemble Neue Musik "," Musikatelier Weimar "," Sinfonium Weimar "," Ensemble für Neue Musik via nova "and" Violoncello and overtone singing ".
Honors
He awards the Badge of Honor of the State Music Council of Thuringia to well-deserved personalities in musical life and to people who have worked for the LMR for many years. In 2018 the State Music Council of Thuringia honored the musicologist Ingeborg Stein with the badge of honor.
