Kooru järv , (järv = lake) is a natural lake on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa in the Saare district . The town of Merise is 1.3 kilometers from the 87.2 hectare lake and the Baltic Sea is 560 meters away . With a maximum depth of 1.2 meters and an average depth of 30 centimeters, it is very shallow.
