Lars Vogt

Lars Vogt (born September 8, 1970 in Düren ) is a German pianist , conductor and music professor .

Live and act

Vogt studied at the Hanover University of Music and Drama with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling . At the age of 20, Lars Vogt won second place in the international piano competition in Leeds in 1990 . In Germany , Vogt performed and still appears in concerts with many famous symphony orchestras . But he also appears as a soloist or with orchestras all over Europe between Helsinki and Rome . He then came to America and the Far East via Europe . In the 2003/04 season he made his debut with the New York Philharmonic (conducted by Lorin Maazel ) and opened the new Carnegie Hall with a solo recital. In the same season he was also “Pianist in Residence” with the Berliner Philharmoniker .

Lars Vogt shows particular commitment to chamber music . In 1998 he founded the chamber music festival "Tension" at the Heimbach power plant in Heimbach (Eifel) . The permanent circle of artists performing there include: Isabelle Faust , Christian Tetzlaff , Antje Weithaas , Tatjana Masurenko , Boris Pergamenschikow , Tanja Tetzlaff , Danae Dörken , Kiveli Dörken and Sharon Kam . Some concerts at this festival were published on a CD series.

In 2012 he received a professorship for piano at the Hanover University of Music and Theater. In October 2019 he was elected chief conductor of the Orchester de Chambre de Paris. He will take office on July 1, 2020.

Private

Vogt was married to the Russian composer Tatjana Komarova , has a daughter and lived with his family near Düren in Üdingen . At the beginning of 2018, Vogt married the Polish violinist Anna Reszniak in Nuremberg.

Commitment to children

Lars Vogt founded the “ Rhapsody in School ” project with a network of musicians . It is intended to convey classical music to children through emotional, but also rational contact . Every school can apply for a musician to visit on the homepage.

There are a number of solo recordings, in 2002 the pianist recorded a CD with Konrad Beikircher and in 2004 with Sarah Chang .
