Tanja Tetzlaff

Tanja Tetzlaff (* 1973 in Hamburg ) is a German cellist .

biography

Tetzlaff was a student of Heinrich Schiff in Salzburg and Bernhard Gmelin in Hamburg. In 1994 she was a prize winner at the ARD music competition .

She is the principal cellist of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and a member of the Tetzlaff Quartet (founded with her brother Christian Tetzlaff , Elisabeth Kufferath and Hannah Weinmeister ).

She has performed with numerous orchestras such as the Tonhalle Zürich, the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Orchester de Paris, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Northern Sinfonia Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Rostock Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra London as well regularly as a soloist with her Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.

Chamber music also occupies a central place in her career, she regularly plays with partners such as Lars Vogt , Gunilla Süssmann , Leif Ove Andsnes , Alexander Lonquich , Antje Weithaas , Florian Donderer , Baiba and Lauma Skride .

Tetzlaff's repertoire is wide-ranging, including works from the 20th and 21st centuries. NEOS released a CD with the cello concertos by Wolfgang Rihm and Ernst Toch .

She lives with her family in Bremen. She plays an instrument by Giovanni Baptista Guadagnini from 1776.
