Inge-Susann Römhild

Inge-Susann Römhild (born March 23, 1955 in Bad Gandersheim ) is a German chamber musician . From 1994 to March 2014 she was President of the Lübeck University of Music .

Life

After studying piano in Hanover and her first job at the Hanover University of Music and Theater , she became professor for chamber music and song accompaniment at the Lübeck University of Music in 1987 .

At the beginning of the 1980s, Inge-Susann Römhild won the national selection of Concerts of Young Artists twice and in 1985 received the Lower Saxony Young Talent Scholarship. With the Beethoven Trio Ravensburg, founded in 1980, she won prizes at international competitions in Colmar and Florence as well as at the German Music Competition in Bonn, where the trio received a scholarship. In 1987 she became a member of "Ensembles 13" Karlsruhe, which is particularly dedicated to the maintenance of new music.

In 1994 she was elected rector and in 2008 president of the only music academy in Schleswig-Holstein . She held the office until 2014. She was succeeded by the saxophonist Rico Gubler . Since 1995 she has been a member of the board of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Foundation . From 1997 to 2002 she was President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Music Council.

In 1992 she married the tenor and vocal teacher Michael Gehrke.
