Hacker-Pschorr is a brand of the Paulaner Brauerei Gruppe GmbH & Co.KgaA .

history

Altes Hackerhaus, Sendlinger Strasse, corner of Hackenstrasse

In 1417 a brewery was first mentioned at the place of today's restaurant "Altes Hackerhaus" in Sendlinger Strasse in Munich. The Munich beer chronicle shows an illustration of this: "The cradle of the Joseph Pschorr'schen brewery" zum Hackher "Sentlingergasse. XM. Century". It is further described: “In the Haggenviertel, on today's Sendlinger and Hackenstraße, there was a well-known brewery at the end of the 14th century, the Bräu am Hag ..“ Prew im Haggenviertel ”two crossed heels as a landmark” (probably the trade of Owner, house numbers did not exist back then). Since there were numerous carpenters among the main visitors to the brewery at the time, the author suspects that there are two hatchets or axes that also have the oldest drawings of the trademark. In 1738, “Bürger und Bierprau ” Simon Hacker acquired the property, which Joseph Pschorr bought in 1793 from his father-in-law Peter-Paul Hacker and expanded it significantly. Under the couple Joseph Pschorr and Maria Theresia Hacker, Hacker-Pschorr became Munich's leading large brewery at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1813 they built the “Hacker-Keller”, the largest storage cellar in Germany on Landsbergerstrasse. The huge brewery and storage cellar covers an area of 4,000 square meters and a storage capacity of over 35,000 hectoliters. In 1820 Joseph Pschorr acquired the "Brauerei zum Bauernhansl" and other houses in Neuhauserstrasse and built the "Brauerei zum Pschorr" there. After Pschorr's death, the inheritance fell to the sons Georg (Pschorr Brewery) and Matthias (Hacker Brewery, "zum Hacker"). She and her descendants expanded both breweries and managed them by investing in the new technology at the time, such as B. the cooling machine from Carl von Linde, into the modern age. It was not until 1972 that the Hacker and Pschorr breweries merged again to form Hacker-Pschorr Bräu AG, which was later acquired by the Schörghuber Group .

From 1993, the Pschorr-Höfe (including the office complex of the European Patent Office ) were built on the former site of the Hacker-Pschorr brewhouse on the Hackerbrücke . The brewing facilities were merged with those of the Paulaner brewery.

Today Hacker-Pschorr Bräu GmbH is part of the Paulaner Brewery Group .

Since the beginning of 2007, the range has been completely switched to swing top bottles. The development was completed in 2014 when the 0.33 liter flip top bottle was launched.
