The Schörghuber Group ( SUG ) operates nationally and internationally in the fields of beverages, hotels, salmon farming and processing, and building & real estate. The Schörghuber Stiftung & Co. Holding KG (SHKG) is the holding company of the Schörghuber Group.

history

In 1954 Josef Schörghuber founded a property developer and real estate business in Munich , Bayerische Hausbau GmbH & Co. KG . At the end of the 1950s he entered the commercial aviation business, the foundation of the former aircraft leasing division (until 2011). In 1969 the company entered the hotel business with the operation of the Arabellahaus in Munich. In 1978 the company took over the prefabricated house manufacturer Hanse Haus.

At the end of the 1970s, the Schörghuber group of companies took over Heilmann & Littmann Bau-AG. In 1980 the company decided to merge with KG Sager & Woerner to form Heilit + Woerner Bau-AG , but sold it to Walter Bau AG in 1988 for a symbolic price of one mark .

At the end of the 1970s, Schörghuber entered the beer business by purchasing the Hacker-Pschorr and Paulaner breweries . After Josef Schörghuber's death in 1995, his son Stefan Schörghuber , who had been working in the hotel and mountain railways business since 1984, took over the group. Since the death of Stefan Schörghuber on November 25, 2008, his widow Alexandra Schörghuber has been running the group.

The Paulaner Brauerei Gruppe GmbH & Co. KGaA (formerly Brau Holding International GmbH & Co. KGaA) manages the investments of the Schörghuber group of companies in the beverage sector. It is a joint venture with the Dutch Heineken NV (30 percent) and was founded in 2002. The network of regional breweries is one of the largest brewery groups in Germany.

In addition to the Paulaner brewery with the brands Paulaner , Hacker-Pschorr , Thurn and Taxis, Auerbräu and Hopf Fürstenberg , Hoepfner and Schmucker, the Paulaner Brewery Group is a wholly-owned subsidiary. The Paulaner Brewery Group also holds 63% shares in the Kulmbacher Group with the brands Kulmbacher , Mönchshof-Bräu, EKU, Kapuziner, Sternquell , Würzburger Hofbräu , Keiler, Scherdel Bier , Kitzmann , Braustolz and Bad Brambacher.

The beverage sector is included in the consolidated financial statements using the equity method . In 2018, sales amounted to EUR 690 million and 2,555 employees were employed.

The tourism activities of the Schörghuber Group are brought together under the management company Arabella Hospitality SE . These include 14 hotels in Germany, Switzerland and Mallorca, which have been operated by the US American Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide (now Marriott International , Inc.) since 1998 .

Construction and real estate

The Bavarian construction combines the real estate and property development activities of the Schörghuber Group, employs about 200 people and manages a real estate portfolio valued at around 2.7 billion euros.

Seafood

Since July 1, 2011, salmon farming and processing in Puerto Montt , Chile , which is combined in Productos del Mar Ventisqueros SA , has been part of the Schörghuber group of companies as the fourth division. Until it was taken over by the Schörghuber Group, the company, which was founded in 1989, was 51 percent owned by the Schörghuber family from 2001 onwards.

Josef Schörghuber Foundation for Munich Children The Josef Schörghuber Foundation for Munich Children was founded on July 26, 1995 on the initiative of Josef Schörghuber, with the aim of enabling children and young people from Munich to take part in holiday programs and activities. Thanks to the donations collected, over 4,400 children were able to take part in holiday programs and school trips in 2018. The administration of the foundation, as well as the allocation of the funds takes place through the foundation administration in the social department of the state capital Munich.

Sternenhaus On May 8, 2018, Alexandra Schörghuber, together with Thomas Müller and Martina Münch-Nicolaidis, announced the establishment of the Sternenhaus on Nockherberg , which is to serve as the central contact point for young mourners. The star house is part of the Nicolaidis YoungWings Foundation , which is financially supported by donations from the Schörghuber Group.

House of Art The "Foundation House of Art Munich, non-profit operating company mbh" was founded in 1992 and has been running the House of Art in Munich since then . Until 2014, the Schörghuber group of companies, along with the Free State of Bavaria, was one of the main shareholders of the foundation and provided the exhibition center with 500,000 euros a year. Other participants were the Association of Patrons Society of Friends of the House of Art Munich eV and the exhibition management of the Great Art Exhibition. In 2014, the Schörghuber family announced their departure from sponsoring the exhibition center for contemporary art in order to concentrate more on their social activities in the future.
