Wittenbeck is a municipality in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). The municipality is administered by the Bad Doberan-Land office based in the city of the same name .
geography
The community is located between the Baltic Sea coast , the cooling ridge , the oldest German seaside resort Heiligendamm and the cities of Kühlungsborn and Bad Doberan. The districts of Hinter Bollhagen and Klein Bollhagen belong to Wittenbeck.
Behind Bollhagen
Hinter Bollhagen is a district of Wittenbeck and is located in the east of the municipality, about two kilometers south of the Baltic Sea coast. The village is the location of the cooling waterworks, which supplies the cities of Bad Doberan, Kühlungsborn and the surrounding communities.
During the G8 summit in Heiligendamm in 2007, there was a checkpoint with a security sluice at the barrier around Heiligendamm near Hinter Bollhagen.
Klein Bollhagen
The Reiterverein Wittenbeck has been hosting the district championships here since 1979 and organizes an annual horse show.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Hinter Bollhagen and Klein Bollhagen were incorporated.

The coat of arms was approved by the Ministry of the Interior on April 3, 1997 and registered under the number 124 of the coat of arms of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Blazon : “Divided by a silver sloping strip; above in blue three (2: 1) silver shells; below in green a slanted black sea buckthorn branch with six silver leaves and six golden fruits. "
