In 1994 the community was incorporated into the Bad Doberan district. Since the district reform in 2011 , it has been in the Rostock district .
Incorporations
On January 1, 1958, Klein Stove was incorporated, in 1960 Klein and Groß Schwaß were incorporated.
Population development
Due to the proximity to the Hanseatic city of Rostock, the settlement of several industrial and craft businesses as well as attractive building areas, the municipality was able to significantly increase its population against the trend in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
