Gutow is a municipality in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). The community is administered by the Güstrow-Land Office, which is based in the non-official city of Güstrow .
geography
The municipality of Gutow in the northern part of the Mecklenburg Lake District borders the southwestern urban area of Güstrow and is located between three lakes ( Parumer See , Sumpfsee and Inselsee ). The terrain rises in the south of the municipality from about 10 m to 70 m above sea level. NN at.
Gutow is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Güstrow in the northeast, Mühl Rosin in the southeast, Zehna in the south, Lohmen in the southwest and Gülzow-Prüzen in the west.
The districts of Badendiek, Bülow, Bülower Burg, Ganschow and Schönwolde belong to Gutow.
history
The places Gutow and Ganschow were first mentioned in 1226. Bülow follows a few years later.
Incorporations
Badendiek has been part of Gutow since July 1, 1950. Ganschow joined on February 1, 1973. On August 1, 1965, Gutow merged with the neighboring community of Mühl Rosin to form the new community of Bölkow , and on January 1, 1984 Gutow was spun off from Bölkow again. Bülow was incorporated on June 13, 2004.

The coat of arms was approved by the Ministry of the Interior on June 4, 1999 and registered under the number 190 of the coat of arms of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Economy and Infrastructure
In addition to agriculture, fruit growing characterizes the area around Gutow. In the last few years some commercial enterprises have settled here. A stud farm is operated in the Ganschow district. There is a nature reserve to the south .
