history

Hall house Bartenshagen

Parkentin was first mentioned in a document in 1177. The name stands for the place of Parkun , a deity of the Slavs , who populated the area since the 6th century. The area of the village belongs to the lands that Pribislaw transferred to the Doberan Monastery when it was founded in 1171. The church was founded a little later by the monastery. In 1333 the monastery was granted jurisdiction over Parkentin by Duke Albrecht II . The monastery subsequently acquired further rights here, including the mill. The village belonged to the Doberan Monastery until 1552 and the church to the archdeaconate area of the monastery. After the secularization and dissolution of the monastery, the place came under the ducal domanial office. The first Protestant pastor appointed by the duke and not the abbot of the monastery was Brand Meseke in 1557 .

Hütten was first mentioned in a document in 1268. In the Hütter Wohld , an extensive beech forest , the monks of the Doberan Cistercian monastery found the best conditions for the construction of fish ponds and created a chain of several ponds that are still managed today. Due to the occurrence of quartz sand and the existing forests as fuel, a glass works by the monks has been operated here since 1268. The name of the place Hütten points to this historical reference.

Neuhof was first mentioned in a document in 1383 and came to Parkentin in 1927.
