history
Thelkow
The place Telekowe or Telekow was named in older documents . The origin of the name is derived from the place of the Telka . Thelkow was first mentioned in a document in 1358. A Bertelstorp de Telekowe and a clergyman named Jacobus were named here. On June 2, 1390, a squire Henneke Buk pledged the forge and the jug at Thelkow to the squire Claus Bassewitz in addition to several uplifts from the village of Kowalz. Around this time, the Bassewitzs seem to have established their long-term ownership in the place. Landowners were then Lühe (from 1513), Maltzahn (from 1783), then frequent changes and a. Oertzen . The church from the 13th century belonged in the Middle Ages to the archdeaconate Altkalen in the diocese of Cammin . The preserved manor house dates from the 19th century.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities of Alt Stassow and Liepen were incorporated.
