Rukieten is a municipality in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ( Germany ). The municipality is administered by the Schwaan Office , based in the city ​​of the same name .

geography

The municipality of Rukieten is located between the Warnow Valley and the Mühlbach , about six kilometers southeast of Schwaan on the road to Güstrow .

Rukieten is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Wiendorf in the north, Hohen Sprenz in the east, Mistorf in the south, Kassow in the south-west and Schwaan in the north-west.

The districts Rukieten and Göldenitz as well as the residential areas Hoppenhof and expansion belong to the community.

history

Rukieten was first mentioned in 1306 in a pledge as "Rukitne". The prince von Werle pledged the taxes from the place to the knight von Bülow . The place name means "sea buckthorn" (Polish: "rokitnik"). The town of Göldenitz has belonged to Rukieten since the 1950s and appeared for the first time in a document as early as 1259.

Transport links

The connecting road between the towns of Schwaan and Güstrow runs through Rukieten and Göldenitz. There is a connection to the Rostock S-Bahn in the neighboring communities of Schwaan and Mistorf .
