Mistorf is a municipality in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). The community is administered by the Güstrow-Land Office, which is based in the non-official city of Güstrow .
geography
The municipality of Mistorfs is located between the towns of Güstrow and Schwaan , about 30 km south of Rostock . The area is slightly hilly, the district of Neu Mühle is located on the Mühlbach , which flows between the lowlands of the Warnow and upper Recknitz towards the south to the Nebel .
Mistorf is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rukieten in the north, Hohen Sprenz in the northeast, Laage in the east, Sarmstorf in the southeast, Lüssow in the south, Groß Schwiesow in the southwest and Kassow in the west.
The districts of Augustenruh, Goldewin, Käselow, Neu Mühle and Siemitz belong to Mistorf.
history
In 1294, the originally Slavic settlement of Mistorf appears for the first time in a register. The chapel dates from 1342 and was built on the initiative of the Bishop of Schwerin.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Augustenruh and Goldewin were incorporated.
Worth seeing
- Gothic chapel from the late 15th century as a brick building with three-sided east end; Remains of a carved altar from the 15th century. Re-inauguration will take place after the restoration has been completed on September 14, 2019.
- Former watermill in the Neu Mühle district - a small manor house - is now used as a feed trading company.
- Käselow manor from around 1870 as a single-storey, 11-axis, renovated plastered building with a two-storey central risalit .
- In Siemitz: home of the architect Heinrich Tessenow .
