The Güstrow-Land office is located in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). 14 municipalities are united in this office to carry out their administrative business.

Seat and duties

The administrative seat is in the non-official district town of Güstrow . Originally 15 parishes belonged to the office. The community of Bülow was incorporated into Gutow on June 13, 2004 ; On January 1, 2005, the Recknitz community was incorporated into the Plaaz community . Since January 1, 2005, the municipality of Gülzow-Prüzen from the dissolved Steintanz-Warnowtal Office has been part of the Güstrow-Land Office.

The official area extends from the Recknitz glacial valley in the northeast to the hilly areas in the south, which are already in the Mecklenburg Lake District . In the south the office borders on the Ludwigslust-Parchim district . Apart from the Recknitz floodplains and the fog , the area is flat to slightly hilly. The highest elevation in the official area is 99 m above sea level. Reached NHN near Klein Upahl . The area is dominated by agriculture, but the close proximity to Güstrow also created some new industrial areas. Parts of the mist riverbank and some lakes are under conservation . The lakes around Güstrow and in the south of the administrative area still have potential for further tourist development.

The federal highway 19 ( Berlin - Rostock ), the federal highways 103 and 104 as well as the railway lines from Berlin to Rostock and from Güstrow via Laage or via Schwaan to Rostock run through the official area .
