The Laage office is located in the middle of the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

In this office, three municipalities and the city of Laage , in which the administrative center is located, are united to carry out their administrative business. The office was formed on August 1, 2004 from the former Laage-Land office and the formerly free city of Laage. The community of Weitendorf, which was still independent at that time, was incorporated into Laage on July 1, 2006, Diekhof on May 26, 2019.

Located between Rostock and Güstrow , the Recknitz flows in a wide glacial valley through the hilly district. The Schmooksberg reaches 127.5  m above sea level near Lüningsdorf NHN . On the Schmooksberg there is one of six SREM radar systems of the German air traffic control .
