Weitendorf is a district of Laage in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . 861 inhabitants live in Weitendorf (as of December 31, 2005). In January 2006 it was decided to start negotiations on a change of area, and on July 1, 2006 the formerly independent municipality was incorporated into Laage with the places Kritzkow and Levkendorf, which were incorporated into Weitendorf on July 1, 1950 . The last mayor before the incorporation was Hans-Jürgen Mank.

Weitendorf is located 24 km from Rostock between the cities of Güstrow , Schwaan and Laage at an altitude of 25  m above sea level. NN . The terrain is slightly hilly and slopes slightly to the southeast to the glacial valley of the Recknitz . The Hohensprenzer See is located northwest of Weitendorf .

Infrastructure

Due to the favorable infrastructure due to the proximity to Rostock and Güstrow, to the federal highway 103 and to the Laage motorway junction on the A 19 as well as the proximity to the Rostock-Laage airport , several companies have settled in the industrial area in the Kritzkow district, including a concrete plant and a company for the production of roof tiles.
