Bundesstrasse 103
The national highway 103 (abbreviation: B 103 ) is a federal highway in Germany . It begins in Warnemünde in Mecklenburg and ends in Kyritz in Brandenburg on the B 5 .
course
The road from Krakow to Plau was completed in 1846.
The current course of the federal road leads from Warnemünde as a four-lane expressway via Lütten Klein , where there is a connection to the Warnow tunnel via the B 105 , and the Schutower Kreuz , from which one arrives on the B 105 in the direction of Wismar , to the motorway junction Rostock- West on the A 20 . From the Schutower Kreuz to the A 20, the B 103 is designed as a motor road with the Rostock-Barnstorf and Kritzmow junctions . From the A 20 connection, the course of the B 103 is interrupted.
Further south, the B 103 begins again near Laage and runs in a south-westerly direction. The main road 108 branches off here , which connects to Teterow in the south-east . At the Laage motorway junction, the A 19 crosses the course. In Güstrow , the B 103 ends a second time at the intersection with the B 104 . It continues its course near Karow at the intersection with the B 192 and continues to Plau am See , where the B 191 joins. The B 198 branches off south of Plau and connects to the A 19 and to Neustrelitz, among other places .
The towns of Meyenburg and Pritzwalk can be reached in the Brandenburg area . South of the Meyenburg locality, the A 24 crosses the route at the Meyenburg junction . In Pritzwalk, the B 103 runs as an open ring around the city center and partly shares the route with the B 189 (Wittenberge – Wittstock). From this bypass, the B 107 also leads to Havelberg and the former route of the B 321 to Putlitz, which has been graded in this area since 2005 . The B 103 ends at the B 5 north of the core town of Kyritz.
At a certain distance, the Güstrow – Meyenburg railway line runs parallel to the Bundesstraße 103, and the Neustadt – Meyenburg railway line continues to Pritzwalk . Crossing points exist south of Güstrow, near Ganzlin and north of Kyritz.
Former histories
Originally the road ran beyond Kyritz to Berlin-Pichelsdorf, where it ended at the B 2 . Today this section belongs to the B 5.
Since mid-2006, the route of the B 103 in the Rostock area has been interrupted by the federal motorway 20 . The old B 103 ran directly through the Rostock city area. The four-lane connection from Schutower Kreuz to the A 20 was initially implemented as the B 103n.
The route between Dummerstorf and Laage and between Güstrow and Karow has been interrupted since the beginning of 2016, as the A 19 runs parallel here. The sections were therefore downgraded to the state roads L 39 and L 37.
