The national highway 509 (abbreviation: B 509 ) is a German national road in North Rhine-Westphalia .
location
The federal highway 509 is in North Rhine-Westphalia . It leads from Nettetal- Kaldenkirchen via Grefrath and Kempen to Krefeld .
history
The former end of federal highway 509 was supposed to be federal highway 51 (A 51). However, apart from the preliminary construction work for the Krefeld-Gartenstadt motorway junction with the federal motorway 57 ( so-called clover leaf with a semi-direct ramp), this was never fully implemented. However, the cross is signposted as a motorway junction and there are two separate lanes in the eastern Krefeld area. On January 1, 2013, the Nassauer- Europa- and Charlottering sections in Krefeld were downgraded to the L473 state road.
