course

The B 421 begins on the B 265 in the Hellenthal district of Losheim , near the Belgian border. It leads eastwards down to Hallschlag , from where it follows the course of the Kyll for 17 km . It leads along the Kronenburger See , through Kronenburg and reaches Stadtkyll after crossing the busy B 51 and the state border to Rhineland-Palatinate .

Now it leads through Jünkerath and Hillesheim to Dockweiler , where the B 410 crosses. Through the Vulkaneifel we continue to Daun (junction with the B 257 ) and Mehren , where the A 1 and A 48 motorways still run together, a few kilometers before the arm of the A 1 branches off northwards at the Vulkaneifel motorway triangle towards the planned closure of the gap.

The B 421 continues in the direction of the Moselle valley, through Kinderbeuern and Alf to Zell , where it crosses the Moselle . On this part it shares the route first with the B 49 , then with the B 53 .

Beyond the Moselle, it goes up the Hunsrück until the Hunsrückhöhenstraße ( B 327 ) is reached at Kappel . Over the Hunsrück, the B 421 now runs through Kirchberg , where it crosses the B 50 , then through Gemünden and the Kellenbachtal to Simmertal , where it ends at the B 41 .
