course

The B 494 begins in the northern part of the city of Hildesheim on the B6 (north bypass Hildesheim), from which it branches off with an exit and heads north out of town as Kennedydamm. There are connections to the Hildesheimer Nordstadt and the district of Drispenstedt . As far as the "Hildesheim-Drispenstedt" motorway junction of the A7 , it has four lanes with a central separation. After reaching the motorway, it leaves the Hildesheim city area and leads past Asel and Harsum as a bypass . After reaching the district of Peine, Clauen is the first village that the federal road passes through. Hohenhameln , Stedum-Bekum, Hofschwicheldt and Rosenthal follow . Behind Rosenthal, the B 494 ends before the Peiner city area and continues as the B 65 , which joins here from Hanover .
