Course of the road
|
The federal highway 422 (abbreviation: B 422 ) consists of two federal highway sections in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The western section connects the B 51 near Helenenberg (municipality of Welschbillig ) via Welschbillig and Kordel (Eifel) with the B 53 in Ehrang , the eastern section the B 269 near Allenbach with the B 41 in Idar-Oberstein .
Planning
It is currently planned to relieve the old town center of Trier-Ehrang by means of an inner-town bypass road. This should begin in Friedhofstraße at the level of the former artificial flower factory and lead over the former, currently fallow mill site to Marienfeldstraße, which connects to Kyllstraße near the Kyllbrücke. A continuation of the first section of this main road, which was previously poorly linked at its end point, is also planned. The plan provides for the re-routing of the federal road between the old B 53 at the Kyllbrücke and the junction B 53 / B 52 , which will mainly take the cumbersome and narrow Kreisstraße 13 with the dilapidated Pfeiffersbrücke (an old railway overpass), which has been closed to heavy traffic for years below the large Ehranger bridge) should relieve.
