  • The national highway 457 (abbreviation: B 457 ) is a federal highway in Germany . It begins in Giessen , leads via Lich , Hungen , Nidda and Büdingen to Gründau , where it joins the federal motorway 66 .

    history

In the original course, the federal road ran through the town centers of Langsdorf and Hungen .

On December 21, 2001, construction of a bypass around Langsdorf began. The old town center was not able to cope with the increasing pollution of the increasing traffic and the noise pollution for the residents increased, which made this bypass necessary. This structure is spanned by a bridge that leads to Bettenhausen .

On July 25, 2005 , construction of the Hungen bypass began. According to the Federal Ministry of Transport , this 3.9-kilometer construction project will cost around eleven million euros. The building was opened by the parliamentary state secretary Angelika Mertens . The goal was reached on December 21, 2006 and the bypass, with a total length of almost four kilometers, five bridges and a roundabout, was opened by State Secretary Großmann. In addition to employees from the companies and authorities involved in planning and construction, many citizens of the city of Hungen also took part in the opening.

The Büdingen bypass has been under construction since March 17, 2017. The length of the construction project is 2.6 kilometers.
