Networking

history

The B 35 was part of the planned Autobahn 80 , which was to lead from Germersheim via Bruchsal, Vaihingen an der Enz , Stuttgart and Ulm to Senden (Bavaria) . The design as a motorway has now been postponed, but not yet given up. In the meantime, sections of the route, such as those between Germersheim and Philippsburg -Rheinsheim, Bretten-Alexanderplatz and between Knittlingen and Maulbronn, have been expanded into two lanes.

Traffic load

Prohibition for trucks over 12 t except on Saturdays in July and August

The section between Bruchsal and Knittlingen or Illingen is chronically overloaded, as it is used by many trucks as a shortcut and toll-free connection between Stuttgart and Mannheim .
