The federal highway 530 (abbreviation: B 530 ) was a German federal highway in northwestern Lower Saxony . It ran between Emden , Riepe , Neermoor and the B 72 near Hesel .

history

The later section of the B 530 between Neermoor and Hesel (9.6 km) was initially dedicated as federal road 72a. In the requirements plan of the law on the expansion of federal highways from 1971 to 1985 from June 30, 1971, the four-lane new construction of a federal road under the designation B 70n was initially planned between Emden and the Simonswolde area . This was followed by a four-lane line under construction between Simonswolde and Neermoor (10.1 km), which was supposed to close the gap to the single-lane B 72n between Neermoor and Hesel, which was already in traffic. In the road construction report of the federal government for 1971, however, the entire route is included as the B 530 with a length of 29.0 kilometers and construction costs of 154.0 million DM. Nevertheless, in the annex to the road construction report of 1972, the western part is still designated as B 70n. In 1973 the section between Simonswolde (today: AS Riepe) and Neermoor (today: AS Neermoor) was completed. The section between Emden (L 2 near Emden-Friesland ) and AS Riepe with a total of 9.0 kilometers was opened to traffic in two sections in 1976 (3.5 km) and 1977 (5.5 km).

The B 530 between Emden and Hesel was also included in the law amending the law on the expansion of federal trunk roads from 1971 to 1985 from August 5, 1976. In addition to the approx. 29 kilometers, a further 4.3 kilometers were to be built on the B 530 between today's AS Emden-Mitte (B 70) and AS Emden-Ost (A 31). However, with the second law amending the law on the expansion of federal trunk roads from 1971 to 1985 from August 25, 1980, the plans for federal highway 31 were fundamentally changed. Instead of routing the motorway from north to Leer , the A 31 has now been placed on the route of the B 530 between Emden and Neermoor. The B 530 was completely merged into the A 31 except for a small section south-east of Emden (today: feeder A 31) and the route between AS Veenhusen and Hesel. The last-mentioned section was finally downgraded to the L 24, so that the B 530 no longer existed.
