The national highway 484 (abbreviation: B 484 ) is a German national road in North Rhine-Westphalia east of Cologne .
History / other
The federal highway 484 was set up in the early 1960s to improve the network of federal highways. For many, it serves as a shortcut from the A4 to the A 3 from Overath to Lohmar in order to avoid the Heumarer Dreieck bottleneck around Cologne . The B 484 was relocated around 1980 as a bypass road from Wahlscheid in the direction of the Agger river to the west of the local border. In the 1990s, a noise protection wall was built on the Wahlscheid bypass. The landscape garden Aggerbogen with the nature school Aggerbogen is located between the B 484 and the Agger . In Lohmar in 2005 after the completion of the Lohmar Nord motorway junction, the B 484 was partially traffic-calmed as a one-way street (Siegburg in the direction of Donrath). The access to the A3 in Lohmar-Nord is only possible in the direction of Frankfurt am Main .
Downgrade
After the construction of the Lohmar Nord motorway junction, the A3 serves as a bypass road for Lohmar and the B 484 was converted into an unclassified road in the local area of Lohmar. Interrupted by the autobahn passage, the B 484 has since led from the junction to the B 56 near Siegburg to the Lohmar (31) junction of the A 3 and from the Lohmar-Nord junction (30b) of the A 3 to Overath. The section between the B 56 and Siegburg was rededicated as Landesstraße 16. This also affected the short Siegburg section of the B 484 between the B 8 and the A 560 , Bonner Straße .
