The federal highway 245a in Germany establishes the connection from the B 245 near Barneberg in Saxony-Anhalt to Helmstedt with the access to the Autobahn 2 .
history
Before the division of Germany , Reichsstraße 245 ran from Halberstadt to Helmstedt . Since the road crossed the Inner German border three times over a very short distance , trunk road 245 was relocated from Barneberg in the direction of Haldensleben during GDR times . The two short West German sections in the Helmstedt district kept the name Bundesstraße 245. Since the German reunification in 1990, the section from Barneberg to Helmstedt has been called the Bundesstraße 245a .
