The German federal highway 277a (abbreviation: B 277a ) ran parallel to the B 277 between Aßlar and Wetzlar in Central Hesse , in its short course it crossed the Dill .
The B 277a connected the B 277 with the B 49 (near Wetzlar-Dalheim) and the new industrial area Wetzlar-Dillfeld, at the same time it is the only motorway feeder to the Wetzlar motorway junction ( A 45 and A 480 ).
The length of the B 277a was approx. 1.4 km; it served more as a bypass or as a feeder to the A 480 and B 49 than a supra-regional transit function.
Approx. In 1997, the B 277a was renamed the B 277, after the parallel B 277 between Wetzlar and Butzbach had been downgraded to a state road on January 1, 1995.
