    • The federal road 207 (abbreviation: B 207 ) consists of two sections (described here in north-south direction).

    The northern section belongs to the Vogelfluglinie and Europastraße 47 and runs from Puttgarden station over the Fehmarnsund Bridge to Heiligenhafen . This section is to be expanded to four lanes as a hinterland connection of the planned fixed Fehmarnbelt link to Denmark . A combined immersed tunnel ( Fehmarnsund tunnel ) for road and rail traffic is planned between Fehmarn and the mainland near Großenbrode . The road should also have four lanes in the tunnel with one hard shoulder in each direction. The Fehmarnsund Bridge is to remain open to pedestrians, cyclists and local traffic and remain two-lane.

    Between Heiligenhafen and Oldenburg in Holstein , the B 207 was expanded to four lanes and rededicated to federal motorway 1 . The section between Oldenburg and Lübeck was downgraded to a state road at the end of the 1990s due to its parallel location to the A1.

    The southern section of the B 207 begins in Lübeck and runs along the Ratzeburger See through the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park and via Schwarzenbek (from here parallel with the B 404 and B 209 ) to Hamburg-Bergedorf . The Lübeck– Breitenfelde section is part of the Old Salt Road .

    Federal highway 207 new

    Between Lübeck and Pogeez , the B 207 has been relocated to a newly created route ( B 207 n ) close to the route of the Lübeck – Lüneburg railway line in order to relieve the residents of the places on the old route from through traffic.

    The first section was released in September 2003 and opened up the university district as Berliner Allee .

    The second section was released on December 17, 2007. It crosses the Lübeck Landgraben and runs parallel to the Lübeck – Lüneburg railway line between Lübeck-Blankensee Airport and the airport train station as far as the A 20 .

    With the completion of the first two sections, the old route of the B 207 between the Wakenitzbrücke in Lübeck and the Groß Sarau junction on the A 20 has been downgraded to the state road 331.

    The third section begins at the A 20 junction Lübeck-Süd and leads south of Pogeez on the Ratzeburger See onto the old B 207. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on May 19, 2008. According to the plans for 2011, the new federal highway should be continuously passable. However, peat lenses delayed completion. On December 23, 2014, the third section was completed and opened to traffic.

    Bike and sidewalk

    The first section has a bike and walkway. The second section was built up to the airport without a bike or walkway. At the instigation of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck , use by pedestrians and cyclists was prohibited. Both decisions are partly controversial. The section from the airport to the Blankensee training park already existed as a road and now has a bike and walkway.
