The national highway 185 (abbreviation: B 185 ) is a German federal highway in the state of Saxony-Anhalt . It connects the city of Dessau-Roßlau with the Harz in an east-west direction . Between Kleinpaschleben and Dessau-Roßlau, the B 185 is part of the German avenue road .
Today's federal highway 185 connected the most important residential cities of the Principality of Anhalt . Only the section between Aschersleben and Ermsleben was on Prussian territory. This section was designated as Prussian State Office No. 90a and was completed in 1842.
Since the year 2000, federal highway 185 has been expanded as part of the federal highway 6n project , and sections have been re-routed.
