The federal highway 522 (abbreviation: B 522 ) is a German federal highway in Lower Saxony in the Hanover area . It is also known as the airport expressway.
overview
- Starting point: Langenhagen, A 352 (but continue as a district road to the airport)
- End point: Hanover, Vahrenwalder Straße (four lanes)
It runs exclusively in the Hanover region .
History / other
Bundesstraße 522 was built in the mid / late 1970s .
It feeds traffic to Hanover Airport from the east on Federal Motorway 2 , as there is no possibility at the Hanover West motorway triangle to change to Federal Motorway 352 from Berlin (and vice versa). It also picks up the target traffic coming from the north on the federal autobahn 352 to Hanover and leads it onto Vahrenwalder Straße towards the city center.
The entire route has four lanes without intersections, with the southern section being built in a trough . The B 522 ends at the traffic light intersection with the street "Am Pferdemarkt" and continues as a district road (K 324), also with four lanes, but with traffic lights to Hannover-Langenhagen Airport .
course
The federal road begins on the A352 in the north and heads south. It crosses under the A2 motorway at junction 44. It ends with the transition to Vahrenwalder Straße .
