State :

The federal highway 442 (abbreviation: B 442 ) is a federal highway in Lower Saxony west and south of Hanover . It has a length of about 60 km and leads from Neustadt am Rübenberge to Coppenbrügge .

course

The B 442 begins in Neustadt am Rübenberge ( B 6 ), crosses Neustadt from north to south and meets the Wunstorf air base in the Poggenhagen district . Here the B 442 is interrupted for a length of about four kilometers, as the road was partially removed in the course of the expansion of the Wunstorf air base in 1944. Remnants of the old road can still be seen as the entrance to the Stiefelholz settlement (from Wunstorf). The air base is bypassed as district roads to the west and east of the restricted area. From the Stiefelholz intersection, the B 442 continues to Wunstorf, where it follows the same route as the federal road 441 for around 1.5 km .

Via Haste it runs south to Bad Nenndorf - there its course to the west is identical for a length of two kilometers to the B 65 - and then continues south to the Lauenau slip road next to the A 2 . From Lauenau it continues on the southern edge of the Deister to Bad Münder ( B 217 ) and from there to Coppenbrügge, where it ends at the B 1 .
